Sonic X (SX)
Sega's latest foray into a Sonic Television show, Sonic X is set in a much more sonic-advance-style world than the others, which revolved more around the comics than the games. This is a radical departure from what they've done in the past, but it does seem popular.
Episode #1 - Chaos Control Freaks
Japanese Title: Enter the Supersonic Hedgehog!

The unthinkable has finally happened. The powerhungry scientist Dr. Ivo 'Eggman' Robotnik has finally collected all seven Chaos Emeralds, mysterious and mystical gemstones that are said to hold immeasurable power. Dr. Eggman has taken them to use them in his Energy Amplifier, which he had designed to harness the immense energy within the gems. As added insurance, he's taken a young rabbit girl named Cream and her Chao friend Cheese as hostages. A situation such as this is still not enough to discourage a certain heroic hedgehog named Sonic and his partner Miles Prower, a twin-tailed fox nicknamed Tails, from attempting to stop him and his plans.

Tails pursues Sonic with his plane, the Tornado. He is accompanied by a girl named Amy Rose, a young pink coloured hedgehog who decided to come along for the ride. As soon as Sonic finds himself in trouble, Tails sends a ring Sonic's way, giving him the strength to bust through Eggman's defences. Sonic gains access to the base before it's too late. As Sonic succeeds in his attack, Tails and Amy are nearly killed on their landing as the Tornado is shot out of the sky. Fortunately they are saved by Knuckles the Echidna, the guardian of the Master Emerald, who had also come along to find out what Eggman is up to.

As Sonic reaches Cream, he finds that Dr. Eggman is one button away from activating the Energy Amplifier. Eggman attempts to finish Sonic as one of his guard robots attacks the hedgehog from behind. Sonic, taking advantage of his incredible speed and agility, easily evades the attack, causing Eggman's Energy Amplifier to be hit instead. Malfunctioning, the damaged machine attempts to use the Chaos Emeralds, and causes Chaos Control, a warp in time and space caused by the power of the gemstones. Sonic, his friends and his foes alike watch in awe as they are absorbed in an ever expanding bright light.

Sonic awakes to find himself alone in a dark world he had never seen before, being stared at by strange creatures who themselves had obviously never seen him before. Afraid of the unknown, the local law enforcement hopelessly attempts to capture the hedgehog, and fail miserably as Sonic hits the highway. Frustrated and with little option left, they send their elite speed team in a last effort to catch Sonic. They fall in defeat like the rest as Sonic breaks the sound barrier in his escape and is sent flying through the sky of this new world.

As he decends from the sky, Sonic lands right into a backyard pool. Unable to escape the grip of the water, it seems Sonic is about to drown. To his surprise he is saved by the young boy living in the nearby house. Sonic thanks the boy for rescuing him, surprising him with his ability to talk. The boy introduces himself as Chris, and Sonic makes his first friend in his new world.

Episode #2 - Sonic to the Rescue
Japanese Title: Infiltrate! Area 99

Sonic has learned that he has been sent to this world called Earth by Chaos Control, and that it's inhabited primarily by humans like his new friend, Christopher Thorndyke, and his grandfather, Chuck Thorndyke. While living at Chris' place watching television, he also learns that he is not alone on Earth, and that Cream and Cheese weren't so lucky as him in their attempts to escape the humans. Eager to help Sonic free his friends and take in some excitement, Chris and Chuck take Sonic to Area 99, the high security military base where Cream and Cheese are being studied.

On the way to Area 99, Chris gives Sonic an infrared scope to help him see the motion detectors within the base, and once Sonic exits the car and starts speeding towards the base, he advises him through the scope's radio to go through an air vent to evade security. Sonic makes short work of the security as he makes his way to the room Cream is being kept.

While Sonic is trying to figure out the most effective way to bust Cream out and escape, the base's power begins to fail and gives him the opening he needs. Foul play is found by the military to be the cause of the power failure, and as they frantically try to restore the power, Sonic takes Cream and Cheese through the base. Their escape is cut short as the electricity is restored, and the two are attacked by the surveillance cameras. In the time it takes to destroy the cameras and clear their way, the base is being locked down and sealed off. Sonic was running out of options until suddenly, many small and sharp flying objects began destroying the surveillance. Can anyone's luck really be this good?

The surveillance equipment begins to malfunction as the base begins to lose power again. Lasers are being fired in all directions as Sonic tries to find an exit. All the while trying to avoid the laser fire and collapsing structures, the three escapees head up flights of stairs to the top level of the base. As the two are reflecting on the danger they came out of, Sonic hears a familiar sound. After taking off his scope and listening harder he recognizes it all too well as the whirr of the Tornado's propellor. Sonic takes Cream in his arms and busts out of the ceiling, safely landing on the Tornado's wing. The mystery sabotager is revealed to have been Tails all along, aided by his clever creations. Satisfied with their success, the newly formed group head back to Chris' house.

Sonic's reunited friends introduce themselves to Sonic's new human friends. Chuck marvels at Tails' technology, when the subject turns to where Sonic and his friends' home is and how exactly to get back there. This is when Tails realizes that if he, Sonic and Cream all made it to Earth, then it's possible the others did. This is when they also realize that if they all made it here, Eggman did too.

Eggman reflects on his current situation. He decides that he'll just pick up where he left off and conquer Earth and the rest of the universe instead. He begins to laugh as he realizes how easy it'll be to take this new planet.

Episode #3 - Missile Wrist Rampage
Japanese Title: Dr. Eggman's Ambition

Dr. Eggman is ready to begin his attack on the world by taking the nearby city. However, he is torn as to which one of his doom devices he wants to use. Crippled with indecision, he lets the computer pick one for him, and it lands on a robot he calls 'Missile Wrist'.

Meanwhile, Knuckles and Amy are traveling underground. Knuckles is spending his free time by highlighting the fact that if Sonic hadn't been so reckless in his attack on Eggman, they wouldn't be in this world. Amy, of course, cannot stand Sonic being blamed for anything, and tries to defend him, little to Knuckles' concern. When Amy is fed up she threatens to stop walking with him, once again affecting Knuckles' demeanor very little. Realizing he'd leave her without a second thought, she chases after him.

True to his own word, Eggman begins to destroy a nearby beach with his Missile Wrist robot. Using it's solid retractable arms, Eggman's loyal servant annihilates everything in it's path as the two of them head towards the city. The police are helpless against the massive mechanical weapon, and quickly surrender. The shockwaves from the devastation above quickly alert Knuckles and Amy of the disturbance above ground. The two rise to find the area in ruins as the giant robot continues to carry out it's orders. Determined to make more of a statement, Eggman and the Missile Wrist robot ascend to the top of a building in a style that can only involve more destruction. Eggman then decides to take this time to alert the population of his pending world domination. As Eggman finds out from the police that he has to get the mayor to turn over the city, Tails had already heard from the news of Eggman's attack and takes Chris with him in the Tornado to stop him.

By the time the mayor reveals that he's not allowed to give the city over, Tails has arrived on the scene, so Eggman is forced to change his priorities. As Tails' attack on the robot is proved futile, one of the robot's wrists clips the Tornado's propellor, forcing Tails to transform his plane into the X Tornado, a jet powered version of the Tornado that dosent use a propellor. While Tails is trying to avoid the constant attack from the robot, Amy pleads with Knuckles to help Tails, to no avail. Frustrated with Knuckles' lack of concern, Amy rushes into the building, forcing Knuckles to chase after her. By this time, Sonic is alerted of Eggman's attack on the city and is running to Tails' aid.

While Knuckles is trying to assess a strategy of attack, Amy rushes in to fight and is easily captured. With Amy in it's grip, Knuckles is now unable to attack Missile Wrist at all. Luckily for the two of them, Sonic has arrived and Eggman now has to deal with another foe. Knowing that Missile Wrist stands little chance with only one arm, it discards Amy, who is rescued by Knuckles. With the ring passed to him by Chris, Sonic now has the power he needs to beat Missile Wrist. With one Spin Attack from above, Sonic pierces the robot's armour and destroys it. Defeated, Eggman makes his escape. With the military closing in to capture them, everyone escapes on the Tornado, except Knuckles, who glides off into the distance.

Episode #4 - Chaos Emerald Chaos
Japanese Title: Get the Chaos Emerald!

Back at Chris' house, Sonic and his friends explain their situation to Chris. The whereabouts of the Chaos Emeralds are a mystery, and Sonic and his friends are unsure of whether they are even in this world. Without them, they have little hope of returning home. However, it wouldn't be long until the majority of their fears are put to rest, as the first Chaos Emerald is about to be uncovered.

Meanwhile, the President is meeting with his agents, where he is told of their discovery of Sonic and Eggman's hideouts. Reflecting on Eggman's recent activities, the President is eager to capture them, but it was already decided that he and Sonic will stay under surveillance. A reconnaissance team has been sent for Eggman, whereas an undercover operative is sent to keep an eye on Chris. It is soon revealed to be his new substitute teacher, Mr. Stewart.

At a local construction site, the green coloured Chaos Emerald is dug up from under the ground. As soon as the gem is touched by the construction equipment, the energy travels through the metal and disrupts the machinery's controls, sending it on a short-lived rampage. It isn't long before the discovery of the gemstone makes it onto the news, alerting Cream, Cheese and Eggman to it's presence. Cream and Cheese rush to tell Sonic, and he, Tails and Amy take off for the emerald. Not one to wait around for Sonic to take it, Eggman launches his Beacon robot, and takes off to the city. The surveillance team assigned to monitoring Eggman are alerted to his departure, and attempt to attack him, but needless to say, they fail miserably. As the Tornado flies by his classroom, Chris bails from class, and Mr. Stewart is quick to pursue him.

Chris chases after the Tornado in his rollerskates, who in turn is followed by Mr. Stewart in his car. Tails and Amy meet up with Sonic, and upon learning of the exact location of the emerald, Sonic rushes to the site. Eggman has arrived too, and his mere presence is enough to send everybody running. Seeing the fleeing crowd alerts Sonic to Eggman before he himself is spotted, so he passes over the rooftops towards the emerald. His luck soon runs dry, and as soon as he is spotted, Eggman sends his Beacon robot to attack Sonic. As Sonic leaps from one building, the robot manages to send him flying into the air. Not about to give him any chance to get back on his feet, the robot continues to smack Sonic around. In an attempt to give Sonic a little power boost, Amy comes in riding the Tornado and tosses Sonic a ring. Despite his efforts to catch it though, the wind from his hands pushes the ring out of his reach. As Tails tries to take Amy closer to Sonic, Eggman takes his chance and homes in on the emerald. A second too late and Chris grabs it before him. Highlighting his shameless lack of honour, Eggman cleverly takes it from him and tries to flee, and in his attempts to retrieve the emerald, Chris manages to be taken into the air with Eggman while holding on to the Egg Mobile.

As this is happening, Amy manages to get close enough to Sonic to hand him a ring. Using up it's energy, Sonic is able to regain his balance and attack Beacon, resulting in it's destruction. With the robot finished, Sonic, Tails and Amy see Chris hanging from the Egg Mobile and hurry to his aid. In his struggle to retrieve the emerald, Chris is sent hurtling to the ground with the gem in his hand. Mr. Stewart tries to catch him in his car, but Sonic catches him before he had the chance. With the newly found emerald in his hand, Chris heads home with Sonic and co. Only six emeralds to go.

Episode #5 - Cracking Knuckles
Japanese Title: Clash! Sonic vs. Knuckles

Homesick and depressed, Knuckles sits alone in a dark alley. His eye is caught by a figure emerging from the darkness. Much to Knuckles' annoyance, it is revealed to be Dr. Eggman. He wastes no time in dropping to his knees and pleading for help. Knuckles is far from stupid, but by now Eggman has grown quite skilled at pushing his buttons. Taking advantage of his trusting nature, Eggman tells Knuckles of how he has changed his evil ways, that Sonic caused Chaos Control on purpose and that Sonic refuses to let anyone return home, and all Eggman wants is to go home and live in peace. Knuckles' recent anger at Sonic is ignited and Eggman's plan has begun.

Back at Chris' house, while analyzing the Chaos Emerald they recently found, Chris is running into more trouble trying to keep his friends a secret, and close calls with Ella and Mr. Tanaka are becoming common practice around the household. After evading Mr. Tanaka, Amy runs into Chris and tells him of the news report on television about the discovery of Chaos Emerald energy effects around Silver Valley. Using a clever trick Tails had come up with while evading Ella and Mr. Tanaka, Tails, Amy and Chris take the train for Silver Valley, leaving behind Sonic. While trying to resume his nap, Sonic receives a video monitor from Eggman's delivery robot, Bokkun. It's a message from Knuckles, who challenges Sonic to a fight at, coincidentally, Silver Valley. Courtesy of the Eggman Empire, the monitor proceeds to blow up in his face, and Sonic is off to meet Knuckles.

After a fruitless search, Tails, Amy and Chris are enjoying their picnic, while wondering how the Chaos Emerald effects could have happened with no emerald in sight. At this moment, Eggman's giant container robot rises from the depths of the lake, and with the element of surprise, captures the three in a second. Eggman appears and reveals the secret to the mystery energy spikes. It was only a simple ploy to trick the media, which in turn would lure them here. After failing to break free, Eggman tells the three that they are mere backup should the main plan fail. He tells of Sonic's imminent arrival as Knuckles waits patiently on the cliff.

A confident Sonic appears next to Knuckles. As Sonic taunts Knuckles, he becomes confused as to what Knuckles is talking about. Unwilling to put off the fight, Knuckles is quick to attack. Not quick enough though it seems, as Sonic dodges Knuckles' swings at every chance. With no opening for attack, Sonic flees up the cliff face followed closely by his assailant. As he reaches the top of the trees, Knuckles catches Sonic off guard as he proceeds to break down tree by tree in an effort to crush Sonic. Spending every free second he has to taunt Knuckles further, Sonic finds an opportunity and attacks. He fails as the two are sent hurtling down the cliff side. The conflict is brought to a halt as Sonic flails for his life in a couple inches of water. As the two get ready to resume their battle, Tails has screwed the armour plating off of the central part of the robot. With her patience running thin, Amy crushes it under her hammer. The explosion catches Sonic's eye and he see's Eggman, realizing he'd been had. He quickly rushes to Eggman, with Knuckles in pursuit.

As Eggman is in distress realizing his robot isn't insured (and comically forgetting the fact that no insurance company in holy hell would be crazy enough to insure his robot), Sonic brings the robot to it's knees. As the robot strikes back, it is stopped by Knuckles, eager to remove the distraction to his fight with Sonic. Eggman decides to change strategy and shift the robot on the other side of the lake. A good plan in theory, but Sonic proves it worthless as he races around the lake and inflicts another blow. By this time, Knuckles has long figured out Eggman had deceived him. As Sonic helps his friends out from the robot, it becomes clear that it's far from finished. As the others shelter themselves from the firepower of the robot, Knuckles rushes in for his retribution. He closes in on the robot while evading it's attacks, and once he reaches it, his rapid blows take their toll on the robot's surface. He reaches it's peak and wreaks his vengeance on Eggman. With the doctor flying far into the sky, and with one final downward punch, the robot splits and explodes, destroying it completely. With the area rocking from the explosion, Sonic rushes in and grabs Knuckles from being swept away.

As the dust settles, Amy shoves herself on Sonic in her usual fashion as he meets his friends. His faith in Sonic restored, Knuckles heads for home, but not before Amy takes the chance to tease Knuckles some more about how wrong he was about Eggman once again.

Episode #6 - Techno Teacher
Japanese Title: Fierce Battle! School Wars

After Sonic returns home from his morning run, Chris learns from Mr. Tanaka that his parents are coming home for a visit. Once telling Sonic, Tails and Amy about it, he reminds them stay out of anyone's view while he's at school. This is when Amy and Tails learn from Chuck of how Chris' parents are always too busy with their careers to spend enough time with him.

Frustrated at his lack of progress, Eggman is racking his mind for ideas to help kick start his world domination. Strangely, he decides that it would be easier to establish his rule if the children of the city looked up to him as a hero, which in, theory, would influence their parents in accepting him as leader. With a mission as specific as brainwashing children, he is still unable to decide which robot would be best suited to the task, despite the fact that he designed them all himself. As usual, he shoves his cards into his filter machine, and it lands on Intellihente, Eggman's clever teacher robot. In no time at all, the robot leaves Eggman's base and arrives at Chris' school.

In true substitute teacher style, Mr. Stewart has left the class to stare in confusion at the questions left for them as he sleeps at his desk. The silence is soon interrupted when Intellihente busts through the door to the classroom, and with Mr. Stewart still half asleep, the robot wastes little time in throwing him out to take his place. With his newly found energy after being discarded from his class, Mr. Stewart crashes into the principal's office, causing the startled principal to cover himself with his coffee. When Mr. Stewart takes the principal back to the classroom, he finds that the robot has already taught the class how to complete the math on the board, and the principal shows little concern in letting the robot continue. Mr. Stewart, being the government operative he is, phones in to base for military support in reclaiming his class... and is laughed off the line. With little options left, Mr. Stewart phones the police station, and a cop arrives at the school to investigate. Once the two find Intellihente at the baseball field, the officer finds that the kids are having too much fun to consider the robot a threat.

However, Eggman didn't send Intellihente to have fun, and is fuming when he finds the robot is doing nothing but playing baseball. It's not long before Bokkun arrives on the field to express the doctor's anger at Intellihente's lack of progress, and that all the robot had achieved was the student's love for him, not Eggman. With the children gathering around and looking up to him, Intellihente is quick to rebel against the doctor. Needless to say, the students adore him and Eggman is furious. As the class is just about to head home, the doctor himself arrives in the Egg Mobile, complete with his tool belt. Out of his mind with fear, the robot attempts to flee and his true colours are revealed. With the ball back in his court, Eggman orders the robot to keep the group behind to start the real class. Chris attempts to leave anyway, but is stopped by the robot, making it very clear who's side he's on.

Now that Chris has been held up at school, his newly arrived parents and the rest of his family are worring about his whereabouts while they wait for him at home. When he overhears Amy and Tails witnessing this, Sonic leaves the house to go look for him. He arrives at the school baseball field while Chris and the rest of the class are being forced to draw Dr. Eggman. With the speed Sonic had gained before reaching the school, Eggman fails to even notice his arrival, much to Intellihente's annoyance. With Eggman's orders, Intellihente unleashes his firepower arsenal on Sonic. However, the robot wasn't really built for battle, as Sonic manages to easily destroy it with one blow. In an act of unwarranted self importance, Eggman presents Sonic with a badge of himself to reward Sonic for his victory. Neither Sonic, nor the rest of the class would touch it, so Eggman pins it on himself and makes his exit. While the class stares at Eggman as he leaves, Sonic tells Chris that his parents had been waiting for him, so the two leave the field together.

As the day is ending and Chris runs home, Mr. Steward is wandering around wondering about how to better himself as a teacher. He quickly forgets that he was being pursued by the police officer for snatching his burger from him, and gets back to fleeing him once the cop finds him again. Chris finally reaches his house and is eagerly greeted by his parents. The family begin their dinner together as Amy and Tails quietly watch them from the window outside, while Sonic silently stares at the night sky.

Episode #7 - Party Hardly
Japanese Title: Giant Free For All! Chris House Party

Chris has left, leaving Cream and Cheese to stay inside. Boring. Cream quickly forgets the rules when she notices a flowerbed outside, so she leaves the house with Cheese to pick some. When Amy hears the two of them outside, Tails is wondering why they would break the rules to pick flowers. It's then he remembers that Cream used to pick flowers for her mother back at home, and he and Amy realise that she must miss her. While the two wonder about how to cheer her up, Sonic has been listening, and once he notices a poster in the attic of a massive flowerbed in the mountains, Sonic grabs the poster and jumps down the stairs.

Meanwhile, Chris stares at his mother's burnt and ruined attempts at cooking. Her food might not be very edible, but she's having so much fun that she gets the idea to host a dinner party that night. Chris isnt the only one eager for the idea, as Cream and Cheese overhear and become excited. Mr. Stewart also hears about the party at school when he overhears Chris telling his friends about how his uncle Sam Speed is also coming, so he finds Chris after school and tells him that he also plans on coming. As he realises more and more people will be in his house, Chris begins to worry about how he's going to manage to keep his secret friends a secret.

Arriving home from school, Chris tells his mother of Mr. Stewart's plans to show up at the party, before he notices Chuck struggling with his suit. When they begin talking about Sonic and company, they realise that Cream isn't upstairs where she should be, and find her and Cheese trying to decorate in the next room. Caught off guard by Chris' mother, they frantically try to divert her away from Cream so that they can move her out of sight unnoticed. After a close call with Ella, and after Cream explains herself, it comes to Chris' surprise that Mr. Tanaka new about Sonic and his companions all along. In the time it takes to look back at them, Cream and Cheese have wandered off again. While Chris is looking for her and Ella is preoccupied with Chris' mother, Cream manages to set off anarchy in the kitchen.

While wandering about, Cream passes Chris' mother's room as she receives a phone call. Cream hears as she is immediately called away to star in a big time movie, and she watches as she begins to cry, realising that the time she was going to spend with her son had been stolen once again. Meanwhile, in a mountainous area, Sonic looks at the poster, then at the valley. They are one and the same. Overjoyed that he finally found what he was looking for, Sonic rushes down to the flowers by the water, and takes in their aroma. While Chris looks for Cream, Ella isn't able to find Chris to get him to come say good bye to his mother before she leaves for the movie. She can't wait any longer and tells Ella to tell him that she's sorry.

Chris returns to the attic in search of Cream and Cheese, but only finds Amy, Tails and Chuck. With Chris losing his mind over their disappearance and his guest's imminent arrival, the four of them team up to search for the two. They're running short on time though, as Mr. Stewart arrives with flowers in hand at the door. When Chris shows at the door, he is invited in and mentions that he can't wait to meet Chris' mother. Both Mr. Stewart and Chris hear of her departure from Ella, but noises from the ongoing search for Cream disrupt the three. Ella finds Chuck knocking pot plants over outside while Mr. Stewart begins to conceal a suspicious looking device on a painting nearby. Chris then freaks as he notices Cream's feet hiding behind the nearby curtain. Sonic then appears outside the window with a fistful of flowers. Cream becomes so preoccupied with excitement that she emerges from the curtain and walks past everyone while talking. Mr. Stewart is too busy trying not to be noticed with his device by admiring the painting, while the others try to convice Ella that Cream is a stuffed toy.

At this time Chris' uncle Sam Speed enters the room and diverts everyone's attention. Once he begins rambling about his encounter with Sonic, he notices him outside the window. When he points towards him, Sonic jumps out of sight and everyone is convinced that he's the one seeing things now. Ella begins to relate as she is convinced that Cream spoke. In an attempt to divert the conversation, Chris apologises about his mother not being here for the party, and that it was inconsiderate of her to bail on them. Remembering his mother crying over having to leave, Cream jumps out of Chris' arms and becomes angry at him before bursting into tears from missing her own mother. As she runs from the room, Mr. Tanaka tries to pass it off as ventriloquism, before Amy and Tails burst into the room in pursuit of Cream. Convinced she's going crazy, Ella is by now on the verge of passing out, and Mr. Stewart decides that he dosen't need the device as he'd already heard enough. After he and Sam leave and seeing Ella worrying about her mental state, they decide to let Ella in on their Sonic secret.

With the entire house at ease now that nobody has to hide anymore, Sonic notices that something is still bothering Chris. It turns out that Chris is worried that he was inconsiderate and hurt Cream's feelings when he was complaining about his mother. It was for nothing though, because soon after Cream gives him one of her flower crowns that she made, clearing any doubt in Sonic's mind about whether or not Cream was still mad at Chris. As Ella receives her flower crown the entire house is happy that they can be together now.
